I. Introduction a. Psalm 116:15 (NKJV) says 15 Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His saints. b. Job 14:1 (NKJV) says 14 “Man who is born of woman Is of few days and full of trouble. – Job’s understanding of death is tied to carnality and death. c. Psalm 39:4 (NKJV) says 4 “Lord, make me to know my end, And what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail I am.– Regardless of the knowledge we have of death, eternal life was sought, even back in the bible days. Although death is inevitable, we have this hope. d. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 (NKJV) says13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.[a]- The keyword here is sleep.
Question that must be asked about afterlife 1. Is there a second chance after death? Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV) says 27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, – After you die, judgment will follow. There is no second chance to get it right. If you die in the Lord, you will only die once.
III. Hebrews 2:14 (NKJV) 14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, – The devil has no authority over a believer when it comes to death.
The Truth About Heaven, Hell, And Purgatory...
There is tendency for us to believe that other religions belief is outrageous when it comes to their beliefs about death. Keep in mind that other religions believe what they believe in with the same conviction as we do. In fact they look at us the same we look at them, concerning our beliefs.
It is important to learn a little about all faiths, so that you can understand why they believe what they believe. Here are some of them.
Can we contact the dead after they are gone? In some instances, yes. However, we are not supposed to. It is forbidden and can be considered a form of sorcery or witchcraft.

This is the supposed practice of communicating with the dead, especially in order to predict the future, witchcraft, sorcery, or black magic in general.

Can you imagine watching Him do miracles and seeing wondrous healings performed right in front of you? How about hearing His many incredible teachings firsthand, praying with Him or sitting around the table with Him at the Last Supper? I can’t begin to fathom how the disciples felt when Jesus was arrested and ultimately crucified. For three days His disciples and followers were waiting and wondering if everything Jesus had said to them before his death was true. The heartbreak they must have felt, at the loss of someone they loved so dearly!
What The Bible Really Says About Heaven, Hell, Judgement, Death, Evil, Sin, And Salvation
Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb. Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint. Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.”
What joy must have flooded their souls knowing death could not keep Him in the ground, and everything Jesus had said would happen….happened! The tough Roman soldiers who were used to keeping order by inducing fear were reduced to confused, shaken men trembling with fear of their own. How would they explain this?
I’m not a runner myself, and I bet these women didn’t run much, but when they heard the news, “He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!” the exhilaration from hearing those words would send them running to tell the Good News to ALL that…

His friends, followers and even his enemies realized every word which Jesus spoke was fulfilled. His enemies would go to great lengths to squelch the truth, but they could not. His power was greater than any authority or ruler on earth. They tried to say Jesus was defeated, but He wasn’t then and cannot be defeated…EVER!
It isn’t over! He is waiting for His message to be delivered and heard by people of every tongue, every nation, and every tribe. He loves us that much! He loves us so much that Jesus left us with a gift.
Nothing has changed in over 2000 years. Jesus is still sitting at the right hand of God’s throne. Jesus went through hell to get back to heaven, and He left us with a special gift, the Holy Spirit who resides in us and works through us if we choose to believe.

Christ died on the cross so you would never have to walk through hell. There are circumstances in our lives that can make us feel like we are in hell, but nothing compares to what Jesus did for us by dying so we can have eternal life with Him. His love is consistent in a world that is not. His promises are the absolute truth when the world says there are no absolutes. Hell is a real place, but Christ made the way so no one must perish.
It may feel like hell today, but you don’t have to wait for your Sunday like everyone else because Christ’s perfect work on the cross is complete and salvation is yours for the asking. Salvation comes by admitting you are a sinner and believing Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins. Jesus defeated death and rose again for you and me. It is that simple……
For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

Sounds heavenly. But according to the scientists there may be a simpler neurological explanation – the action of oxygen depletion on the brain.
My theory of Hell draws on Montaigne’s description of his near death experience falling off and being crushed by his horse. His delirium made time stand still, pain an irrelevance and his life pass before him scrambled in time and place by hallucination.
The Depiction Of Hell And Heaven In Art Of The Eternal
A troubled conscience taken into that context must be a special kind of torment. And stripped of all sense of time, it meets many of the classic criteria of Hell.
I watched the film ‘Source Code’ at the weekend. The hero is a massively injured soldier kept alive, artificially, so his brain can be deployed in a virtual timeshift to stop a ‘dirty bomb’. He saves the day. And his brain comes to a stop at a perfect moment – kissing the virtual ‘girl next door’ having saved millions of lives. Heaven.
We could all check out any minute. In olden times often with no warning in a brutal instant. Spartans sought glorious death on the battlefield – not much time to contemplate your sins in that kind of death. But there were plenty of other ways to go.
The Bad Place: A Visual History Of Hell
We call that only a natural death; as if it were contrary to nature to see a man break his neck with a fall, be drowned in shipwreck, be snatched away with a pleurisy or the plague, and as if our ordinary condition did not expose us to these inconveniences… To die of old age is a death rare, extraordinary, and singular, and, therefore, so much less natural than the others; ’tis the last and extremest sort of dying: and
